Men's Finalist to be known today PDF Print E-mail
Friday, 18 December 2009
Eastern Club fought hard to score 2 Goals against Green sharks. This leaves Kisumu Simba as the only Men's team with a pracctical chance for the championship. Whereas, it is an all Kenyan affair for the Women's teams, Kisumu must beat Sharkia today to avoid an all Egyptian final for the men's.

Today's matches are critical for every team. Yobe who looked promising have faded away as the tournament progressed. They face Eastern Club who have tactfully reserved their best performance for the final. Green Sharks have an early morning match against Moshi Khalsa who have lost all match but have been reducing the margin gradually. Today could be their day to pull a surprise and Green Sharks have to be very careful with the Moshi lads. They gave Kisumu such a hard time and considering they have nothing to loose now that they still got a chance for the play offs.

Sharkia are worried, Kisumu have kept their word and they have changed tactic in every game after they lost the first match to Eastern. The worst would be a draw for Kisumu considering the fire power upfront and the experienced defense line. The traditional drag flicks may not be a big worry for the Simba Goal keeper Odanga.

Todays Matches

Green Sharks Vs Moshi 9:30am

Yobe Desert Rollers Vs Eastern 11:30am

Kisumu Simba Vs Sharkia 2:00pm

Day 3 ACCC 2009 PDF Print E-mail
Tuesday, 15 December 2009
Sliders recovered from 2nd day loss to beat Waetherhead 6 - 1. This gives  Sliders a chance for the final. However they must beat Imo and hope that Telkom beat Imo. This is purely mathmatical as the early morning match is expected to be a taugh one. Imo are defending the cup and Telkom are at home.

Kisumu Simba has given the local hockey fraternity some hope in the finals and we hope the same squad will be intact for the forth coming matches. It is a great combination of players who have had a gone at the cup before only in a different team this time round. The force of Forces is clearly seen in the defense, midfield and attach. The inclusion of Zack in the team was a big blessing considering the many chances they lost when they played against Eastern.

The field gaols from Dennis (Deno) & Zack and the well executed flick from Teddy are a clear indication that Kisumu are no push overs. They now have to concentrate on their Short Corners and the Egyptians will definately have something to worry about. Yobe may as well start backing. conceding as many short corners as they did against Kisumu Simba to any of the Egyptian Teams will be sucidal. Lucky them if at the worst only have of the short corners are converted then they may as well be looking for sonmething close to half a dozen goals to take home per match with the Egyptian teams.

Yobe are the forst team to openly complain about umpiring. Those the umpiring has not measured up, it has been very fair in most cases. However, they may have a case and this calls for the officials to make good their calls otherwise if the N igerian teams pull out, this event will turn to be a 2 nations affair.

All said and the game played as it did, Kisumu Simba 3 - Yobe 1.

Eastern dominated their match against Moshi Khalsa making it 5-0 at half time. However, they could not match the scores by their country men Sharkia of 15 and only managed to get 11 goals. Final score 11-0.
